Chronic Illness & Chronic Pain
Adjusting to a new diagnosis, living with chronic illness or chronic pain, and not being able to access the healthcare you need are all stressful experiences. To make it worse, there are a lot of cultural messages that blame people for their health problems and a ton of conflicting advice about how to manage health problems.
Do You Struggle With:
Self-blame, embarrassment, and shame because of your health condition?
Sharing how you’re feeling or what you need because you don’t want to be a burden to others?
Pushing yourself to do more than your body can handle in order to seem “normal” or not cause problems?
Feeling misunderstood or judged by the people in your life?
Not being in touch with what your body needs?
Therapy Can Help
We can work together to help you define health or wellness for yourself, find safe ways to be be present in your body (and respect when it’s helpful to disconnect a bit), honor your body’s energy and pain levels, build up your support team, and prepare for medical appointments. You may also find it helpful to read more about me and my approach to therapy.
“Yes, you are, and always were, and always will be, worthy of love and respect whatever your health status...”
